First days of the wine harvest
| News - News |
It's here; the awaited moment has arrived. The first plots of Sauvignon Blanc were harvested this morning. From daybreak, the harvesters made use of this early September morning's freshness to harvest the most mature plots.
This is just the beginning of an adventure which lasts one and a half months and whose success will dictate the quality of the 2010 vintages. The climatic conditions are ideal to reveal the potential of this white grape variety which is as special as it is fragile. A hot and dry summer with sunny days and cool nights, all the conditions are united to ennoble various aromas and discover fresh and fruity wines.
White peach, box-wood, grapefruit? It is still rather early to make a pronouncement. We must wait for the end of the vinification - about 15 days - and then the development of the wine to be able to appreciate it.
These first products will be available for tasting in our Sauveterre cellar from mid December onwards.
