Cave de Sauveterre - Vignerons de Bordeaux

On this Friday the 15th May the weather had decided to be miserable but that did not matter at all as the wine cooperative was being festive.

The evening was bathed in an atmosphere of conviviality and warmth, the venue was the heart of the depot adjacent to the boutique. So surrounded by vats and palettes stocked with cases of wine the guests were immersed in the essence of the subject and were guided by the enlightened explications of our two oenologists. It was a successful succession of colours, tastes, perfumes and aromas as much of the wines as the canapés chosen as accompaniments. On this occasion, it was possible to discover our newest addition, the freshly bottled ‘Sauveterre 2006 red' which celebrated a marked success with its pronounced fruity aromas.

Whether wine professionals, well-informed wine-lovers or simply beginners, on this occasion everyone had the possibility to taste and discuss. This was an excellent opportunity for the vine-growers and staff of the wine cooperative to come into contact with wine-enthusiasts and come to know them better.

In the course of the evening and in the presence of our sponsors (M. Bounader - Computer technologist, and a representative of the Sauveterre de Guyenne tourist office) M. Guillaume Wlostowicer, Process-Server in Sauveterre de Guyenne, proceeded to draw the lots of our internet game ‘Play and win' in order to designate the winners. The laptop computer was won by M. Benoit Counihl, then holidays, seats for concerts, cases of wine and other attractive prizes were won by lucky participants.The festivities went on until 9 pm. and although the sun still had not put in an appearance in our skies of Entre-Deux-Mers, nevertheless, the sunlight glinted in the eyes of everyone.

The success of this wine-tasting evening has encouraged us to repeat such an occasion and so, next time, to welcome amongst us those who were unable to join us.
